Tara Armstrong brings more than 20 years of behavioral therapy experience to The NeuroCognitive & Behavioral Institute. She specializes in behavioral assessment and therapy, including ABA treatments across the lifespan.
Her expertise is in assessing and treating patients with Autism, intellectual disabilities, and other complex neurodevelopmental and behavioral disorders. Ms. Armstrong uses evidence-based and compassionate treatment interventions to help her patients and their families obtain their life’s goals.
Ms. Armstrong has provided ABA services across school, clinical, rehabilitation, home, and community-based settings, ensuring that assessment and intervention are ecologically valid, functionally meaningful, and transferable across daily living. Her service delivery expertise spans direct therapeutic intervention, caregiver and staff training, interdisciplinary consultation, and program development.
As a certified Social Thinking clinician, she brings specialized depth in social cognition and social skills intervention. Her foundational training includes a traineeship at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, with BCBA certification coursework completed under the mentorship of Drs. Carbone and Sundberg and the late Dr. Jack Michael, whose contributions have profoundly shaped the field of applied behavior analysis.
Committed to the highest standards of evidence-based, person-centered practice, Ms. Armstrong is currently pursuing a PsyD in Behavioral Health Leadership to further advance her contributions to the field and to the individuals and families she serves.
